Yorkshire Pudding
(Serves 6-8 people)Ingredients
| 15 mL (1 tbsp) | Oil |
| 150 mL (¾ cup) | Pan drippings from prime rib |
| 2 | Eggs, large |
| 250 mL (1 cup) | Milk |
| 250 mL (1 cup) | All-purpose flour |
| 2.5 mL (½ tsp) | Salt |
| Pinch | McCormick Gourmet Collection™ Nutmeg |
Method
- Preheat a toaster oven to 230ºC (450ºF).
- Oil a 22.5 cm x 22.5 cm (9 x 9 inch) pan. Add beef drippings and place pan into the oven for about 5 minutes, or until oil starts to smoke.
- Using a hand mixer, combine eggs and milk. Sift in flour, salt and nutmeg. Mix batter until extra smooth.
- Reduce oven temperature to 200ºC (400ºF) and carefully remove the pan with beef drippings.
- Immediately add the batter to the pan and place back into the oven. Bake Yorkshire pudding 25-35 minutes, depending on the type of pan used.
- Remove from the oven; carefully drain any remaining oil in the bottom of the pan. Turn pudding out onto a cutting board and cut into portions.
- Serve hot.
